“Count your lucky stars” is just an unavoidable pun right now. According to WPEC in Neptune Beach, Florida, an unidentified man from Fernandina Beach had an entire evening to do just that.
The man had gone for a “night swim” Saturday evening around 10 o’clock. The very next morning a group of fishermen set out to sea and came across the man floating about a mile out. The group said they saw something floating from a distance and decided to investigate. When they realized it was a grown man they brought him on board and back to lifeguards on shore.
The unidentified man then told the lifeguards he had gone for a swim the evening before and when the current made it too hard to swim back to shore he simply spent the rest of his Saturday evening floating on his back, stomach and treading water.
Somebody just used up their personal allotment of luck and then some.
