Unless you’re a complete cynic–which hey, let’s face it, many of you might be–this ad featuring Kyle Maynard will do nothing but inspire you. Dude is the first quadruple amputee to summit Africa’s Mt. Kilimanjaro without using prosthetics–just his four short limbs. The 30-year-old was born with a rare condition called congenital amputation preventing the development of his arms and legs.
Not to sound like a cliche, but how incredible is this guy? He never let his disabilities stop him, never let the naysayers deter him. He won 30-odd matches as a wrestler in high school, played youth football, has climbed mountains, written books, attempted an MMA career.
I’m on board with Maynard. Good one Nike–after ironically flip-flopping on outdoor sports like a politician on the campaign trail–this is a definite win.
