Riding a real log is a much different feeling than any other kind of surfing–there’s more flow, more anticipation, and this incredible feeling of the glide that a short board just can’t give you. That’s not to say that shortboarding isn’t great, as well… it’s just two different kinds of great. If you haven’t spent a few months on longboard, start now. Your sense of fun will thank you. Because that’s what surfing is about: fun. Why would you want miss out on fun?
