The Inertia

A Skier’s Journey is a series from Canadian filmmaker Jordan Manley which has long delved beyond simply documenting the shredding of professional ski bums as they travel the globe. It looks at the lives of people who live in the places they visit.

Manley hadn’t been able to work on the project since suffering a concussion in 2014 following a mountain biking accident. Ten months after, he hit his head again, re-injuring himself. But now, the high-quality series returns for a final season and three episodes. And the first is this fantastic look at skiing in Iran, and how the mountains are an escape for the people of Tehran, the closest city of 17 million people. The mountains represent freedom, no matter what part of the world one lives in.
