As Tropical Storm Karl died in the Atlantic, it made way for the next big thing: Hurricane Matthew. Right now, of course, ol’ Matt is sweeping its way north, its eye just a whisper away from outright devastation.
But last week, things looked a lot different. Karl pushed gentle, playful little runners towards northeastern Florida–an area where, according to the filmmaker, you have “a ninety-percent chance of getting skunked.” Not this time, though.
“That’s what psyched me out most: the dude knew the odds were against us finding waves,” wrote Jacob Harn on Vimeo. “Yet, that ten-percent chance of finding something, anything, enchanted him as much as it did myself. That kind of ‘against all odds’ spirit is hard to break away from when you find it.”
