Peanut butter and bananas, breakfast for dinner, some things don’t seem like they should go together. But they do. That’s why the Sweet Igniter Helmet and the Giro Gerry Lopez Contact work.
Giro Snow did what most of us would give a left arm to do: they collaborated with Gerry Lopez, obviously an icon in the surf world who’s lent his incredible style to the snowboarding world as well (he’s nearly as passionate about riding powder). The Giro Lopez goggles are available in three models including the Contact, the Balance and the Blok.
The Contact (above), boast an awesome system to interchange lenses utilizing magnets called the SNAPSHOT. The package includes two ZEIZZ lenses, what Giro calls the full-sun flash lens and a low-light flash version. They’re comfy, too, with triple-layer face foam.

For years, Sweet Helmets has been know for its stylie whitewater lids but have also designed under-the-radar snow and bike protection. The Igniter is the Norwegian company’s all-mountain helmet. It’s super light weight so you can strap it to the pack in the BC or keep it on during the climb in cold weather thanks to serious ventilation in both front and back—the front vents are actually closable to keep that brisk wind off the forehead while riding the chair. An ABS shell and extremely well-thought-out interior liner creates comfortable, stylish protection from a company you may not of thought of for winter wear.
