Yago Dora and Pedro Barros grew up together. They fed off each other’s talents, both on skateboards and surfboards, turning into phenoms both in the water and on the cement. “Skateboarding is a lifestyle I’ve always admired,” says Dora in the video. “The guys are really inspiring. I grew up watching skateboarding, and I got to a level where I can draw inspiration from skateboarding. I can try a new trick that’s not conventional.”
Skateboarding, of course, grew out of surfing. Now, though, surfing is feeding off of it. “Surf has influenced skateboard styles in the beginning,” Yago continues, “but then skateboarding kind of outgrew it with a variety of tricks. It’s like surfing was surpassed, and now I think surfing is getting it back, trying to find the evolution skateboarding has been through. That’s rad because you have two sports that are different but influence each other and walk side by side.”
