The Inertia

An O.D.B. track is fitting for any edit coming out of Southern California as of late. Namely, because D is for dirty and that’s exactly what the water’s been what with two atmospheric rivers and all the rain the region’s been getting. Local custom dictates waiting a day or two, at least, after a major rain to get back in the water. But given the quality of waves that’s accompanied all the precipitation and the zen-like patience that’d be required to adhere to such a principle, many Socal surfers have decided to throw caution to the wind. Hepatitis B and norovirus be damned! A certain righthand pointbreak known for spitting over sand made its seasonal debut recently, making getting in the water even more tempting. Just watch out for floating human excrement. (And needles!)
