You see it with NFL teams, colleges, even the President: trolling. It’s funny. Until it’s not. But in a never-before-seen manner, and one that’s wildly entertaining, big ski resorts around the country are trolling each other. And it’s pretty damn funny so I’d love to see more of it. The good people at Freeskier notified me of the on-going dustup.
The resorts are apparently going after each other using the hashtag #alternativetracks (and mostly in good-natured fun, truth be told). It seemingly got started with this shot at Alta (which is easy because Alta is an easy target thanks to its crusty culture) from Telluride (Colo.):
We have the best skiing in Utah. @altaskiarea #alternativetracks

@Telluride @AltaSkiArea lol…. Tride telling me I should go to alta where it snows.

@telluride, our snow has 0% water content. It's like skiing on air. #alternativetracks
— Alta Ski Area (@AltaSkiArea) February 23, 2017
Not so sure about that, @JP388i @AltaSkiArea #alternativetracks pic.twitter.com/YJeOYjjDpo

Then Telluride fired the shot that silenced the lamb, ripping on Alta’s anti-snowboarding stance:

Awesome. For some reason, Aspen and Taos got into it as well:
Hey @TaosSkiValley it's like someone accidentally left out the C in your name. ??? #tacosskivalley #alternativetracks @CollectivePass
— Aspen Snowmass (@AspenSnowmass) February 23, 2017
Hey, @AspenSnowmass, rumor has it #AspenExtreme was filmed in #Taos because we're that much more extreme #alternativetracks @CollectivePass pic.twitter.com/9SRXgh6JB6
— Taos Ski Valley (@TaosSkiValley) February 23, 2017
Aspen fired back with a beautiful zinger:
@TaosSkiValley @CollectivePass If by "Extreme" you mean… #alternativetracks pic.twitter.com/qaNnDJ0CQN

Lake Louise and Sun Valley also got involved, making for some good old-fashioned wasted time on Twitter. More of this please. Thanks….You can read the rest here.
