The Inertia

There are plenty of studies out there with regards to what age we are the happiest. Of course, the 20’s and 30’s seem like obvious options, given that that’s when our bodies are seemingly in peak physical condition.

But as with most things in life, it’s not about what’s on the outside. According to a study by a financial service company, highlighted by the British news publication, The Independent, of some 50,000 people surveyed, the 50’s are when humans are most happy thanks to more financial security, wisdom, and, get this, a more gratifying sex life. The study found that those in their “nifty-50s” feel on average 10 years younger, mentally, and five years younger physically then their actual ages.

In summation, the study found that happiness is mostly about time: “I seem to enjoy the little things in life a lot more — appreciate art, nature and simply being at home, on the sofa with a herbal tea, vegging out and not feeling guilty about it.” While some seasoned women even take advantage of the age and what they’ve learned over time: “I’ve had the best sex of my life with younger men.”

Which gives us all something to look forward to.
