Ocean athletes (and some musicians) rely on the great seas to support their livelihoods. So it’s no suprise then that they celebrate World Oceans Day more than most. And it’s a fantastic time to do so, given the controversial and sometimes, downright angry, times we find ourselves in with regards to environmental policy. Trash, pollution, global warming, all have been scientifically proven to affect mother ocean. Today is a day to remember to care for her in all we do. Just like these peeps:

Of course the King cares:

Blessed to be at the #OKFijiPro during #WorldOceansDay. The ocean is everything to me but as living organisms, our oceans, beaches, and waterways are gasping for breath and in dire need of attention so the importance of cleaning up every bit we can is impossible to be reminded enough of. I walk the #HighTideLine at any beach I'm at and find as many things as I can that generally go unnoticed. It's amazing how many things you'll find (like this first photo of stuff I found on the beach at Pipeline in only a few short minutes of looking). The ocean produces 70% of the oxygen we breathe. Scientists estimate that in the next decade there could be a pound of plastic for every 3 fish in the ocean and by 2050 it could have more plastic than fish altogether! On top of that, 50% of all wildlife in the ocean has disappeared since I was born in the 70's! What can/do you do to help out on your own time? Share below to inspire others to do the same. Top three idea/posts below will have their images reposted on @Outerknown's instagram story and will receive our #ItsNotOk collection. 100% of profits from this collection go towards helping the @oceanconservancy protect our oceans and beaches. @wsl #OceanKind
