If you’re John John Florence, you’re pretty comfortable above the lip. Remember this? And, as you know, the only way to get comfortable doing something is by doing it a lot. And, as you know, the more times you do something, the higher the chance that, at some point, something’s going to go wrong. Take the instance above, for example. John John, who is in France on a work trip (it is! It’s a work trip!), was getting a few warm-up waves at Hossegor when he saw a little ramp, hucked a wonderful little alley oop, and stuck the landing. If you were surfing at Hossegor and you saw John John Florence hucking a wonderful little alley oop directly over your head, you would be forgiven for being a little awestruck–which is probably what happened to the poor guy who ditched his board directly into John John’s landing zone.
