Shaun White is definitely all in for the 2018 Olympics in South Korea. And if there’s any doubt one could look to a recent, nasty crash in training for proof of his commitment. The wreck beat down White harder than we earlier reported: it caused a bruised lung and 62 stitches. He talked about the accident in a taped message he sent to a recent episode of the Today Show, which was putting on a quasi-promotional event for its parent network’s coverage of the upcoming Winter Games. He told the audience he was working on a new trick whereupon re-entering the halfpipe he impacted the wall somehow. There still isn’t video available.

It was the second major spill he’d taken during offseason training in New Zealand. He also banged up his shoulder during practice in early September and had to pull out of a World Cup event. This one was definitely more serious.
