This video is currently on repeat in our office – it’s a Swedish massage for the eyes if you will. Better yet, a French massage. In it, French professional surfer Ludovic Dulou mounts the famed Mascaret tidal bore in Saint Pardon de Vayres near Bordeaux, France on a SUP foil. And while those among our readers will undoubtedly say that the only craft in the hierarchy of surf craft more despised than the SUP or the hydrofoil in isolation is when the two are combined, our polite response is this video is unquestionably enjoyable to watch. And for the Francophones out there, here’s a deeper dive into Dulou’s quest to surf the Mascaret. Even if you don’t speak French, the video is a must see.
