The Inertia

Oh, you know Nazaré. You know it for its waves, most likely. You know for the lighthouse and the wipeouts and the world’s biggest waves. You know it for the mayhem and carnage and glory. You don’t, most likely, know it for its slacklining. That’s because most people don’t slackline at Nazaré. But Joshua Leupolz isn’t most people.

The 26-year-old is (obviously) a very experienced slackliner, but his attempt at walking a bouncing line over arguably the most dangerous wave in Europe proved a little too much for him. It would prove a little too much for anyone, but if that stopped people from doing things, we’d sure have a boring life, wouldn’t we?
