The North Shore is a funny place for a visiting surfer. At any given moment, there’s a good chance a surfer of some acclaim is within spitting distance. Jamie O’Brien might be behind you on the bike path. Kelly Slater could be in front of you at Foodland. Makua Rothman might be staring you down hoping you’re going to blow the wave you’re paddling for so he can go. Or Donovan Frankenreiter might be lurking beside the stairs. That last one was the case in the latest instalment of Jamie O’Brien’s vlog, and Jamie convinced the mustache to attempt a few board transfers. Oh, and Makuakai showed up for a board transfer session, too—not quite as successful as Donovan’s, but if fun’s the name of the game, they both won.
