In the northwest of Panama’s Caribbean side lies the province of Bocas del Toro. The archipelago off the coast of mainland Panama is oft described as a poor man’s Indonesia. Don’t let the moniker mislead you. While indeed men with less cash to blow can more comfortably afford a jaunt to Panama versus a trip to Indo (we’re referring here mainly to our US-based friends) the culture of the place is electric, it’s incredibly colorful, water taxis cart you from one spot to the next, and ooh the waves when it’s pumping.
