Drop the Mic is a genius concept. Especially if you’re a fan of Method Man and his unfulfilled hip-hop potential, as fans collectively wait for the release of Crystal Meth (hey, we’ve waited since 2011, what’s another decade?). But on Drop the Mic, you get that rough, raw Long Island-grown delivery that’ll hold you over as he hosts the rap battle concept, developed by late-night talk show host James Corden. Well, this one wasn’t bad if you’re okay with Olympic skiers tearing each other apart with marginal rhymes: Lindsey Vonn vs. Gus Kenworthy and everybody wins.
While Gus took home gold here, thanks to bringing the puppy on stage (is that cheating?), Vonn had by far the best rip: “Let’s talk extreme skiing, you think that it’s clever, your sport is doing what snowboarders do better.”
