The unofficial call at the moment is three hundred in the water and a thousand on the sand. It was absolute mayhem on Tuesday as hundreds descended on Tamarack in Carlsbad, California for the takeover of takeovers. Organized by a group that calls themselves the Ponto Troll Crew, the Tamarack takeover (aka Slamarack) saw good vibes flowing, party waves numbering in the 10-to-15 heads per wave range, and rumor has it, a jet ski near-death experience. We’re waiting for footage on that last one.
When PTC (@ptcordie) posted a little teaser the night before the big day, it was clear the takeover was going to be one for the books. “Better see everyone there tomorrow SLAMARACK STYLE! aka: no hard boards and no eggy vibes. FOAMIES AND SENDERS ONLY. Get ready for madness,” they wrote in a post on Instagram.
This isn’t the first time Ponto Troll Crew has organized a Tamarack takeover – holding one last month and another last summer as well. And it definitely won’t be the last. Here’s to hoping for more of this:
