The swell window for Red Bull’s Cape Fear competition, one of the scariest in surfing, has been called on starting August 1 and the comp has moved to an even scarier locale: Tasmania’s Shipstern Bluff. The window for the slab-riding event runs through December. According to Red Bull, this will be the first live-broadcast event held at Shipstern, a terrifying right-hand slab.
The event features four, five-man heats and the winner of each will head straight to the finals. Kai Lenny, Jamie O’Brien and Mick Fanning are among the invitees that include defending champ, Russell Bierke. You can see the entire list, here.
