There aren’t many things more frightening than a shark attack. They’re very, very rare, and footage is even rarer, but Zach Shipps happened to be wearing a GoPro on his head when Will Krause, a 29-year-old South Carolina man, was bitten on the head by a reef shark. Although the attack happened back in late August, Krause only uploaded the video to his Youtube channel near the end of November.
“This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful (more than ever) for God’s kindness & protection over our family,” he wrote on Facebook. “Three months ago (Aug 20, 2018), I survived a shark attack to the head while spearfishing in the Abacos. I was 25 feet below the surface when the 6-7 ft reef shark struck the back of my head & neck. I miraculously escaped with several stitches, some gnarly scars, & a viral GoPro video (thanks to Zach Shipps & Stephen Murray).”
After the attack, Krause was left with a concussion and several stitches—a low price to pay considering how much worse it could have been.
