When you’re in the business of managing a slew of the world’s best surfers and putting the best boards under their feet, the work hours you keep are a little unorthodox, to say the least. Just ask Channel Islands lead designer Britt Merrick and CI team manager Nathaniel Curran. Thankfully, a working lunch looks a little like the above. Just call it research and development. Or supporting staff product knowledge.
Recently, the two linked up near their corporate HQ in Carpinteria for a lunch break surf and to put CI’s newish Ultra Joe model through its paces. For good measure, Nathaniel put a call out to Bobby Martinez and it turned into a small wave party.
