The Inertia

Mark O’Connell is a Seattle-based digital video artist. He makes interesting films that aren’t like anything you’ve seen before. They are “fluid collages of imagery and sound draw on movies, memory, chance, and sensuality. His work abandons traditional narrative in order to explore the possibilities that arise from the juxtaposition, as well as the rhythms and textures, of images and sound.”

Take Disquiet, for example. It’s moody and dark. A simple idea: just waves breaking. But as anyone knows who has sat on a beach for any length of time, there’s something hypnotic about it, and we can’t look away.
