Splitboarding takes a certain mindset. Mainly, you’ve got to be willing to suffer a little, find the pain room and live in it for a minute. We’re all about it here at The Inertia (see below). But that’s probably because we’re gluttons for punishment (or we like to ride powder, alone).
Either way it’s enlightening to watch fantastic riders of snow struggle with skin placement, poles, and actually skiing uphill (ha!). Nitro Snowboards took its team to Norway for a little split action, some surfing and a bit of street (you can take the kid out of the park, but not the park out of the kid) and it was actually entertaining.
