Whoever pioneered the phrase, “No friends on a powder day,” likely never rode with friends on a powder day. Competing for first tracks with everyone and their mother at a resort is one thing, but in the backcountry when staring down the barrel of an epic line, there’s perhaps no better feeling than turning to your buddy right next to you and remarking how sick it’s going to be to one-two the thing. (Rock, paper, scissors for who gets to lay first tracks).
Now, we’ve been fans of Austen Sweetin’s riding for some time now, but more than dropping hammers in video parts, Sweetin always seems like he’s having the most fun and in his recent flick, Rooster Tail, he’s brought his friends along for the journey.
“[The film] documents the elusive rooster tail – something you may never see but will always feel when laying into a long, drawn out turn,” the video description reads. “From deep days at Mount Baker to the psychotic terrain of the Purcell Mountains, Rooster Tail proves that there are, in fact, friends on a powder day. Austen linked up with Robin Van Gyn, Blair Habenicht, Bryan Fox and Travis Rice for the film, which will rev you up to create a few rooster tails of your own.”
