Nic Von Rupp has been stuck at home all summer. That’s not a bad thing, per se — Portugal is a wonderful place — but it’s given him a lot of time to reflect on some of the good times he’s had over the course of his career. One can only imagine the piles of hard drives of footage he has, and he’s been doing a deep dive into it for his vlog, Von Froth. The session he chose for the latest installment is one from Nias a few years ago. He headed there with Aritz Aranburu, Leo Fioravanti, and Indar Unanue. “Nias is the craziest wave,” Nic said. “It’s fun up until 6ft and once it hits the 8-10ft range, it just turns into a double-up monster.”
