If you had, like really HAD, to be stuck somewhere while the world shut down, where would you choose? If you chose Bali, you chose wisely, because Bali has a had a very good few months of swell. The first few months of lockdown, in fact, were filled with more than a few stretches of waves that were better than anything in recent memory. And although August wasn’t as good as the previous months, it was still really, really good.
“We didn’t get any really big swells in August and it was uncharacteristically small for a few days towards the end of the month,” wrote Surfers of Bali. “Despite this, it was still a fruitful month with the SE trade wind holding firm without ever getting out of control, which can happen during this time of year.”
Instead of those maxing Ulu days, they found themselves surfing clean, medium-sized waves… which, with the lack of travelers in the water, no one was complaining about.
