Did you watch the Cuervo Surf Ranch Classic? It was not a normal event. It mixed three parts of surfing together that aren’t exactly boilerplate surf contest: night surfing, longboarding, and the Surf Ranch. The event itself took place in mid-October, but when the visuals were released to the public, the whole thing had been heavily produced and edited. The surfing part of the surf contest took up about half the time. The other half was part story-telling, part biography.
