If one were to judge surfing solely by the clips professional surfers post on the internet, it would be easy to believe that all waves are all very good, no matter where in the world you find yourself. You know, of course, that’s not the case. More often than not — depending on where you live — waves are just… mediocre. Even a mediocre day of surfing is a wonderful thing, though. Take Snapper, for example. It is, on its day, one of the best waves on the planet. Long, hollow, fast… it’s just about everything a surfer wants. But sometimes the wind is too strong. The swell is on the small side. The crowd is huge. And still, it’s fun. John John Florence recently posted this quick hitter on YouTube, and it shows what he calls “the other side of Snapper.”
