Despite joining the tour in 2014 and being one of the most consistent surfers on the women’s side since, Johanne lives a pretty private life. Instead of recording Instagram reels or hosting events, she’s spending quality time with her friends and family, running, biking, and doing yoga with her partner Simon, visiting local markets wherever the Championship Tour takes her and cooking tasty, healthy meals.
Well, the simple life she leads says nothing about her surfing on tour. Especially her backhand, which was on full display at G-Land, earning her the event win, her first since the 2021 Surf Ranch Pro. Last year was without a doubt her best year on tour with said event win, competing in the Olympics, and a Final Five finish. She’s now sitting in third position after G-Land and poised to make 2022 even better.
