Beers and barrels are two things that, if you’re lucky, have gone together well at some point in your past. A full day of smoking tubes followed by a night around a beach fire, surrounded by friends all giddy with the day’s exploits and thirsty for a few cold ones. Desert Point is just about perfect for a surfer like Nic von Rupp. It’s a left, for one. For two, it’s an exceedingly long barrel on its day. And three… well, it’s in Indo. Pack those three attributes into a wave, and you can bet Nic von Rupp is going to be head-over-heels in love with it.
