The Inertia

Kai Lenny is a multi-hyphenate waterman and, on a recent trip to Southern California, he really earned the hell out of those hyphens. He started off surfing Trestles, hiked up to San Onofre to paddle into some waves on a SUP, then capped it all off with a foil session at the same break – all in one day.

“Southern California is a playground for more than just surfing,” wrote Lenny in the description of his YouTube video. “I always bring [boards for] different sports with me just in case the conditions aren’t perfect. When I wasn’t scoring Trestles on my short board, I went down to SanO to SUP and ride my foil. Good fun at the nuclear power plant.”

If only he’d managed to throw a wave pool in there, he’d have the makings of a triathlon designed to enrage surfing purists.
