Adrien Raza can, and will, skim everything. Though he’s been on hiatus for a minute, now, the Dutch European champion skimboarder is back – and taking on the streets of Brussels in his newest video.
In case you forgot about Adrien Raza during his nearly year-long hiatus from YouTube, here’s a primer: He cut his teeth competing in Europe, eventually winning four championships. Since then, though, he’s made a name for himself as an influencer who pushes the boundaries of the sport by skimboarding in strange locations, including city streets, skate parks, and even the legendary skate gap, the Lyon 25.
The video opens with Raza taking a (literal) run at a public fountain, before getting shooed away by Dutch police. From there, he goes on the hunt for a new spot, which gives a little insight into the unique way his brain processes the urban landscape. Where others may see puddles and fountains, Raza sees potential, and he eventually lands on an extremely unique gap: a tram track winding through another fountain.
“This is like the true meaning of urban skimboarding,” Raza gleefully said after finally making the jump. “I skimmed right next to an urban tram.”
