The Inertia

Nathan Florence is back in Panama. This time, he visited The Bluff, a spot he describes as “Panama’s heaviest beachbreak.”

The visit, part of his never-ending worldwide slab tour, was Florence’s second recent report back from the central American nation.  A month ago, he posted an edit of a session at Silverbacks. Notoriously fickle, the treacherous reef break has a perpetually shifting, one-foot takeoff zone that prompted Florence to dub it “Panama’s craziest wave.”

The Bluff is perhaps a little bit more inviting, but not by much. Just to show it wasn’t kidding, the wave immediately snapped one of Nate’s boards. From there, Florence and his retinue were treated to repeated beatings at the hands of the hollow, square and very steep monster.

Was it worth it? Judge for yourself:
