Remember the time when Griffin Colapinto scored a perfect 10 off a massive air at the Margaret River Pro? We sure do. Now, thanks to a new video from the San Clemente surfer’s YouTube channel, we get to revisit the moment from his perspective.
Actually, Griff and brother Crosby revisit a whole lot more than just that, in the nearly hour-long edit. The action begins with the warm-up sessions for stop number seven on this year’s Championship Tour, and follows them along for the entire ride. The whole thing really does feel like a slice of life on the tour, filling out rip-roaring session footage with behind-the-scenes moments ranging from parking lot banter to rental house shenanigans.
When it comes to the competition itself, the edit breaks down the action heat-by-heat for the brothers. All in all, it provides the sort of momentum and context you can never truly get from a highlight reel.
