Ventura, California has produced its fair share of surfers, but few are as beloved as Dane Reynolds. The iconoclastic aerialist has a well-earned his place in the pantheon of Southern California surf icons, and his shop-cum-surf collective Chapter 11 has been hard at work cementing the new generation of Ventura’s wave riders.

The latest offering from Chapter 11 on YouTube makes a strong case for one of those riders in particular: Dimitri Poulos. “Dimitri took a flight down to Salina Cruz and came back with a batch of footy,” reads the description. “It took a while to find the right track to match the surfing, but this one by Mission of Burma seemed to fit nicely…. not to mention there were plenty of other clips on his hard drive that didn’t make it.”

The post ends with a bold declaration of Poulos as one of Ventura’s most promising scions: “Check out his recent surf trip to Mexico, Dimitri Poulos will probably be Ventura’s next surfer to make the tour one day.”
