Day in and day out, the world’s best minds are hard at work finding ways to cram AI into some new aspect of our lives. Now, it seems like the AI boom (or bubble) has come for snowboarding.
The news comes via press release from Shaun White’s ski and snowboard series, The Snow League. In it, the organization declared its embracement of tech’s latest obsession by naming Google Cloud as its “Official Cloud and AI Partner.”
So what would this actually mean for a ski and snowboarding league?
Well, according to them, there are a few uses. The first is to help localize The Snow League events for international audiences using Google AI technology to automate language dubbing and captioning. In addition, Google promises to be able to automate the creation of clips from broadcasts to be used on social media. Finally, the league will be moving its content over to Google Cloud Storage to enable these automated processes.
This is the second recent release from The Snow League, which appears to have kicked its marketing machine into full gear. Its last announcement was decidedly lower-tech, though: a luxurious trophy designed by Tiffany & Co.
