Bull sharks are known for their aggression, but usually just towards living things. However, one shark in Florida took it to the next level when it attacked not only a man, but the jet ski he was riding, too.
In a video circulating social media, the aforementioned ocean predator can be seen attempting to lunge at a jet ski. From there, it continues to aggressively weave through the personal watercraft’s wake, before disappearing back into the depths.
As ABC 7 reports, the video was filmed by John Lacey of Cortez Water Sports and taken near Anna Maria and Passage Key in Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Bull sharks are vicious predators with razor-sharp teeth, powerful jaws, and a notoriously aggressive demeanor. The Florida Museum’s International Shark Attack File, which catalogues shark encounters across the world, lists the bull shark as a species with the third most unprovoked shark attacks, eclipsed only by tigers and great whites.
On the other hand, they’ve also been recently discovered to be able to make “friends” with other members of their species. So maybe this guy was just looking to stop by and say hello.
