The Inertia

Mason Ho makes any wave look good. Whether it’s a rock-infested death trap, two-foot mushburger or a spot that’s legitimately all-time, he has a talent for effortlessly making a wave look like the kind that every surfer dreams of being able to ride. The latest output from the Ho family scion shows off that talent in full, as he (along with some friends and family) take on a favorite peak during the North Shore summertime.

“In the middle of summer on the North Shore of Oahu, Mason Ho and Cheeseburger surf a spot they grew up surfing together,” explains the caption in typically succinct style. “Uncle Mike ends up coming down for a couple waves as well!”

To do that, Ho saddled up on his trademark …Lost stick and paddled out into what looks like a fun lineup (one that also happened to be absolutely infested with stand-up paddleboarders, for some reason). It’s not exactly death-defying stuff, but if anyone can make it look good, it’s Mason.
