How much would you pay to surf firing Lowers with just a few people out? There’s a catch, though: there are about a million people watching.
Hurley’s giving average Joes the chance by auctioning off five spots in the expression session at this year’s Hurley Pro.
With the expression session going down between the semis and the finals, chances are good that one of the most celebrated waves on the planet will be in fine form.
The bidding starts at $1000, with proceeds going to the San Onofre Foundation, a California non-profit that concentrates on education and interpretive services relating to the natural, cultural, historical and biological diversity of California State Parks. They also promote environmental awareness and enhancing the quality of the recreation experience at the state parks. Not only are you surfing one of California’s best waves, you’re helping out a good cause.
So now’s your chance. How much is perfect Lowers with five other people out worth? Bidding begins on August 26th and continues through to September 4th. Oh yeah, and you’ll be surfing against Rob Machado. Hurley already paid his entry fee.
