I’ve been an Ocean Sports cameraman since the 1970s, and although I’ve retired several times, I just can’t seem to stay away from shooting the ocean. As a longtime still and motion photographer, I’ve made many ocean-themed films: “Fantasea,” “Hawaiian Watermen,” “Shark Park,” “Wavesailing Women,” “In Quest Of The Sun,” and “Surfing Dolphins” are some of my solo productions. I also license footage of extreme ocean sports, dolphins and Great White Sharks through agencies around the world. I’ve contributed footage to over 100 commercials and films and have been lucky enough to get dozens of magazine covers.
Ocean sports and photography have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was six, I started shooting images with a Brownie camera my dad gave me. I dabbled with Super8 and 8mm films as I grew up with my buddies, and I ended up graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the San Francisco Art Institute.
