Yesterday, Joel Parkinson solidified his spot on the Billabong team for the long haul, again. Having been a Billabong team rider since he was a promising 11-year-old on the Gold Coast of Australia, he’s now 32 and a world champ. His first victory on the ASP World Tour came as a 19-year-old wildcard at Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. Parko has been a major force since the turn of the century solidifying his role among the world’s surfing elite. We look forward to watching that effortless style for years to come.
