Recently, there have been some big waves at Playa Gris in the Basque Country. It is important to get confidence with the spot when you are surfing big waves, so Axi Muniain proposed to Iñigo Idigoras “Palots,” a local surfer from Zarautz, Roberto Letemendia “Tito,” a young and stylish surfer from Zarautz, the son of the Basque big wave legend “Kanguro,” and Liber Gesalaga to go and test the spot.
Axi Muniain had surfed the wave both paddling and towing before and Palots had also towed in. It wasn’t really an XXL session, but it is a spot where you can surf really big waves. The boys used this session to improve their skills and have more experience at the spot for future big swells. A few beatings and a few waves made, and they’re stoked to keep going and taking bigger and bigger waves.
