Adriano de Souza had a rough childhood. His rags-to-surf-riches story has been well documented as of late and anyone with so much as a singular beat in their heart would and should find it inspiring. However, much less has been “documented” about his adulthood, aside from the very public tour wins he has been racking up. Here, we meet the grateful and level-headed man behind the fierce, passionate competitor.
“Sometimes, you want so much one thing, and you get it, okay. And sometimes, you want so much one thing, and you cannot get it — I think you learn more… I just needed one opportunity, and I see the surfboard. It was right there, and I had to believe in that thing.”
