We have been organizing the Surf and Skate Festivals in Hamburg, Cologne and Munich, Germany, since 2007. This clip is about the first German Championships in stationary wave riding. It is a big thing for German surfers since we are pretty much landlocked and have to travel to satisfy our needs.
Everyone knows the Eisbach in Munich, and now there are more artificial river waves you can have a lot of fun with. Locals from the Eisbach in Munich are considered the best river surfers in the world, so it was quite clear who would make it.
Big surprise, though. Nike Chosen winner and European stationary wave riding champion, Tao Schirrmacher, got kicked out in the semis, so Lukas Brunner and Valerie Schlieper were crowned.
