Most paddle boarding isn’t super dangerous. Unless you’re Laird or Raimana or another freakishly talented/insane stand up surfer, you’re probably not going to get, as Turtle says, “drilled.”
But there is one place where you can be on a race board and run the risk of killing yourself for entertainment: the Battle of the Paddle in Dana Point, California. According the event website, “race safety is paramount.” The video above shows a certain amount of chaos, though… and man, does it look fun.
