Somewhere South is the result of two weeks spent adventuring and surfing deep in the South Australian Desert. Surfer Max Longhurst overcame gnarly locals, shark encounters, and almost killing his dog (by accident) during the making of this film, yet morale remained high throughout the entire trip.
As the filmmaker, shooting Somewhere South and venturing to one of the most isolated places on earth produced some of the most thrilling and unforgettable memories, from surfing breaks that only a few lucky people before us had the fortune of doing, to lazy nights stargazing with the entire universe above. I hope you enjoy Somewhere South as much as I enjoyed making it.
