Back in April, Chile’s Fede Mekis paddled out at the Hotel Alaia Trials at Punta de Lobos in Pichilemu, Chile. Within a few minutes of the horn, he stroked into what was undeniably the best wave of the contest. Of course, he walked away with a perfect score – and now his ride might win him the Billabong Ride of the Year in the 2015 XXL Big Wave Awards. And even if he doesn’t, you can bet this is one of those waves that he’ll never forget.
