If you haven’t noticed already, we love #tournotes; so much so that we would watch the behind the scenes of the behind the scenes. This is because we are able to learn things about surfers that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to know about them. This year’s surfer poll was especially extraordinary for several reasons. At one end of the spectrum you have a healthy, friendly and respectable rivalry between Kelly and John John, and on the other: Noa Deane and company making complete fools of themselves.
Recap of what we learned from #tournotes/Surfer Poll Awards:
1. Surfers are incredible athletes, but with a few drinks in em’ they turn into full-blown comedians.
2. John John looks sharp in a suit, but he for sure needs to shave.
3. Don’t hang with Noa Deane this year on the North Shore if you want to surf anywhere.
