It is all too often that we get caught up in the astonishment of watching surfers push the limits of what is humanly possible. There are those few seconds after someone endures a massive wipeout at Jaws or Teahupoo that we as viewers are uncertain if they will ever breach. Less common are the projects dedicated to the photographers who put themselves in similar life-threatening situations in order to capture these magical moments. Like surfers and their pursuit of catching that “one” wave that will define them, Russell Ord of Western Australia has set out on a mission to capture the “one shot” that illustrates exactly who he is.
